Welcome to Blue Heron Guide Service. My name is Capt. Bob Quarles and I will be your guide. Let me take you on an inshore light tackle or saltwater flyfishing adventure that you will always remember. We will fish the beautiful waters of Pensacola Beach, Santa Rosa Sound and Pensacola Bay. My specialty and passion is saltwater fishing, flyfishing and flytying and I love introducing others to the sport and showing my clients the beautiful area we live in. Whether you are new to the sport of fishing or an experienced old salt, my enthusiasm for you to have a great day on the water is unmatched.
We fish the inshore waters for Redfish, Trout, Pompano, False Albacore (bonita), Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel, Jack Crevalle, Bluefish, Ladyfish, Flounder and Grouper. Spring is a great time to fish for huge trout and reds in the shallows while the water is clear for sightfishing. Summer brings a wide variey of fish to target, but hot temperatures as well. Fall has the best weather and the best fishing. The Pensacola fishery for large “bull” reds has got to be one of the best in the country. Large schools of hundreds of fish often come to the surface feeding on baitfish and are readily caught on light tackle and fly rods. We encourage “catch and release” fishing on some species, but I am happy to clean some of our catch if you would like to have a nice dinner. Several restaurants in our area will even cook the fish for you after I clean it. We fish out of a new 18.5 Maverick Master Angler powered by a 150 Yamaha with a full suite of electronics, Coast guard equipment, vhf radio and cell phone. The 18.5 Master Angler is a boat that you have to fish out of to believe. She’s fast, comfortable in rough water and loaded with rods and tackle, this is one lean, mean fishing machine. Whether poling the flats while sight fishing for reds or trout, or running out in the Gulf for bull reds or bonita, she does it all pretty well.
Let me introduce you to the emerald green waters of Pensacola Beach that are home to a wide variety of sealife including sharks, turtles, rays, and dolphins. We can fish 1 or 2 anglers comfortably for half day or full day charters.
